Avacado Lake
Avocado Lake Park is a 210 acre day use park providing recreation that includes swimming, fishing and picnicking. The park has picnic tables, a group picnic area, BBQs, Earth Boat launching ramp and a playground. (559) 600-3004

Courtright Reservoir
Experience awe-inspiring granite at this spectacular place. In a land of glaciated domes and alpine Sierra bliss, this beautiful valley compares with Yosemite with its impressive natural features. The reservoir itself is noted as California’s prettiest. (559) 297-0706

Dinkey Creek
Surrounded by 10,000 foot high peaks in the western Sierra, a series of alpine lakes feed into a small stream known as Dinkey Creek. This creek flows 27 miles through rich forests and granite canyons, to meet the North Fork Kings River in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Dinkey Creek offers some of the wildest and most accessible recreational opportunities from popular trail routes to family recreation. Activities along Dinkey Creek include hiking, backpacking, rockclimbing, horseback riding, fishing, bird watching, and expert kayaking. (559) 841-3404

Edison Lake
Treat yourself to a great vacation at Lake Edison in the high Sierra, where there is camping, boating, fishing, and featuring clean accommodations and home cooked meals. Florence Lake
Nestled in the John Muir Wilderness, Florence Lake is one of the jewels of the Sierra. Isolated, quiet, peaceful, the area has breathtaking high elevation peaks, pristine alpine lakes, meandering streams and rivers, and beautiful wildflower covered meadows. Florence Lake is one of California's best kept secrets. The area offers fishing, camping, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, horseback riding, hot springs and just about any other outdoor activity. Hume Lake
Located in the Sequoia National Forest at an elevation of 5,200 feet, Hume Lake is an 85-acre man-made lake. A great place to camp, hike and fish, it is a nice paddling destination because motor boats are not allowed. From Ten Mile Creek Road, turn into the Sandy Beach area and continue to the end near the dam for easy canoe or kayak launching and parking. (559) 338-2251

Huntington Lake
Huntington Lake, at an elevation of 7,000 feet, is truly a sailor’s paradise. From June to September, southerly winds blow with daily predictability (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) that make the lake a haven for sailing and windsurfing. Camping, fishing and cross-country skiing are also popular here. (559) 855-5360

Kings River
The Kings River is one of the country’s premiere fly-fishing spots, and is also a popular river rafting waterway, with lots of exciting white water. It’s also a great location for horseback riding and sightseeing. In the summer, floating down the river in rafts and tubes is a popular pastime. Visit the Reedley area along the Kings River for convenient river access and raft rentals. (559) 855-5355

Lost Lake
Attractions in this area 19 miles north of Fresno below Friant Dam include a 70-acre nature-study area and a lake. The day-use area features river access and fishing, and includes picnic facilities with group areas, a softball field, playgrounds and a beach volleyball facility. Millerton Lake
Located 20 miles northeast of Fresno on Friant Road, Millerton Lake State Recreation Area is excellent for fishing, sailing, picnics, camping, boating and water recreation. For campground reservations, call Reserve America at (800) 444-PARK (7275)

On Saturdays and Sundays during the months of January and February take a boat ride aboard our barge for a guided tour to observe bald eagles and other wildlife. Pine Flat Lake
Located 35 miles east of Fresno, follow Belmont Avenue east to Trimmer Springs Road. Island Park Campground has 97 campsites and Trimmer Campground has 10 campsites. San Joaquin River
Take a journey by canoe down the San Joaquin River. Parkway River guides will show you the rich diversity of life along the river corridor, and let you experience the river as it was navigated by Native Americans and early valley explorers. Additional Parkway offerings include hiking along the Parkway Trail Network, seeking out new varieties of local flora and fauna at the Rank Island Ecological Reserve, or conducting scientific experiments at the Parkway's River Camps. Shaver Lake
This resort area has it all: camping, fishing, sailing, motorboating, four-wheeling and horse pack trips in the summer; downhill, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
