Dinkey Creek
Surrounded by 10,000 foot high peaks in the western
Sierra, a series of alpine lakes feed into a small stream known as Dinkey
Creek. This creek flows 27 miles through rich forests and granite canyons, to meet the
North Fork Kings River in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Dinkey Creek offers
some of the wildest and most accessible recreational opportunities
from popular trail routes to family recreation. Activities along Dinkey Creek include
hiking, backpacking, rockclimbing, horseback riding, fishing, bird watching, and expert kayaking.

Edison Lake
Treat yourself to a great vacation at Lake Edison in the high Sierra, where there is camping,

Florence Lake

Hume Lake
Located in the Sequoia National Forest at an elevation of 5,200 feet, Hume Lake is an 85-acre
man-made lake. A great place to camp, hike and fish, it is a nice paddling destination because
motor boats are not allowed. From Ten Mile Creek Road, turn into the Sandy Beach area and continue
to the end near the dam for easy canoe or kayak launching and parking. (559) 338-2251
Huntington Lake
Huntington Lake, at an elevation of 7,000 feet, is truly a sailor’s paradise. From June to September,
southerly winds blow with daily predictability (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) that make the lake a haven for
sailing and windsurfing. Camping, fishing and cross-country skiing are also popular here. (559) 855-5360
Kings River
The Kings River is one of the country’s premiere
fly-fishing spots, and is also a popular river rafting
waterway, with lots of exciting white water. It’s also a great location for horseback riding and
sightseeing. In the summer, floating down the river in rafts and tubes is a popular pastime. Visit the

Lost Lake
Attractions in this area 19 miles north of Fresno below Friant Dam include a 70-acre nature-study area
and a lake. The day-use area features river access and fishing, and includes picnic facilities with group
areas, a softball field, playgrounds and a beach volleyball facility. Campgrounds are available,

Millerton Lake
Located 20 miles northeast of Fresno on Friant Road,
Millerton Lake State Recreation Area is excellent for

On Saturdays and Sundays during the months of January and February take a boat ride aboard our barge for
a guided tour to observe bald eagles and other wildlife. In the month of March vernal pool tours are available.

Located 35 miles east of Fresno, follow Belmont Avenue east to Trimmer Springs Road. Island Park
Campground has 97 campsites and Trimmer Campground has 10 campsites. Also available are two full-service marinas, boat rentals, fishing,

Shaver Lake
